The Mortgage Does Not Pause
Your income stops. Their bills don't. The bank still wants the mortgage. Coverage is how the house stays with the people who live in it.
Your income stops. Their bills don't. A mortgage is the bill that makes that sentence concrete. The payment date does not move because someone died.
Families use term coverage to match the years the mortgage is still large. The death benefit is generally tax-free. It can clear the balance, or pay it down far enough that the surviving partner can keep the payment. The amount has to be chosen against the real balance, not a round number that feels tidy.
If there are two incomes on the loan, both people need their own coverage. One policy on one name leaves the other income unprotected. A stay-at-home parent can be on the loan too, or can be the person whose work keeps the household running. That job still has a cost.
This is general information, not a quote. Age, health, the balance, and the term change the premium. Send your name, email, and phone, then book the call. An advisor licensed through Greatway Financial shows the number and writes the coverage with you.
The checklist
- Write down the mortgage balance and how many years are left.
- Cover both people whose income or work keeps the payment possible.
- Match the term to the years the balance is still large.
- Ask what happens to the premium when the term ends.
- Send your name and book the call. The payment date will not wait.
Your family should not pay this gap. Talk to an Advisor, then book the call.
